Marjorie Herrera Lewis is an award-winning author, educator, and pioneering sports journalist whose career has spanned professional sports, higher education, and public service. She made history as the first female Dallas Cowboys beat writer and has covered the NFL, Major League Baseball, the NBA, college athletics, and professional tennis. A former Nashville recording artist, minor league baseball team owner, professional flag football league commissioner and college football coach, she now teaches media ethics at UNT and professional communications as a faculty associate with the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Her acclaimed book, When the Men Were Gone, published by Harper-Collins, is in development with Mandalay Pictures as a feature film. Holding three master’s degrees and a doctorate, Lewis has devoted her career to storytelling, education, and inspiring others through leadership, perseverance, and a lifelong passion for sports and communication.
